Yuya Osako has been named Konami Monthly MVP for July, capturing the award for the second time this season as he put forward another terrific month for Vissel Kobe.

Osako scored four goals in four July matches and all four were crucial to the Ushi’s results. His goal against Albirex Niigata was the difference in Vissel’s 1-0 win, then he scored to begin the Ushi’s 2-1 comeback win over Sagan Tosu. Finally, his brace against Kawasaki Frontale brought Vissel back from 2-0 down for a 2-2 draw.

The seven points Osako’s excellence netted led Vissel to the top of the table and also personally put him on top of the J1 scoring chart.

The Vissel star also won Konami Monthly MVP in May, making him a two-time winner this season.

In J2, Konami Monthly MVP honors went to Iwaki FC’s Hiroto Iwabuchi. The forward scored five goals in July, taking Iwaki from the relegation zone up to safety. It was a terrific stretch for Iwabuchi, who missed the beginning of the season through injury, returned at the end of June and then played magnificently in July.

The Konami Monthly MVP for J3 went to Ehime FC’s Shumpei Fukahori. He scored four goals in July, highlighted by a hat trick against Kataller Toyama in a 4-3 victory.
