Ryonosuke Kabayama set the Sagan Tosu supporters alight with his magnificent goal in Matchweek 2, and now that tally has also been named Goal of the Month for February and March.
Kabayama took a ball on the edge of the box, cut across one defender whom he left on the ground, nutmegged another defender and scooted by a third before blasting the ball into the back of the net for a goal that will not be forgotten.
The goal was not only an outstanding feat of skill and athleticism, but it earned Sagan a 1-1 draw away to Gamba, so it made a difference in the table as well.
In J2, Goal of the Month honors went to Shimizu S-Pulse’s Akira Silvano Disaro. His goal in Matchweek 3 was one to remember, as he chested down a long ball, turned and blasted a shot home on the half-volley for a sensational stoppage time equalizer.
Finally, FC Ryukyu’s Kelvin was given Goal of the Month in J3 for his tally in Matchweek 1.
