Vissel Kobe have added a new Spanish superstar, signing Juan Mata to help aid their push for the Meiji Yasuda J1 League title.

Mata is one of the most decorated players of his generation, winning World Cup and European championships for Spain, to go along with the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and FA Cup crowns with Chelsea, then UEFA Europa League, FA Cup and EFL Cup titles at Manchester United.

The skillful midfielder has long been one of the most inventive players in the world, creating chances for teammates and wowing fans all over the world. Now, he will do that in Vissel Kobe black and white.

The Ushi have had Andrés Iniesta, David Villa and Bojan Krkić suit up for them before, so great Spanish players in Kobe is nothing new. None of those players were able to push Vissel to the J1 title, though, and Mata could. The Ushi are currently top of the table by two points and a magnificent Mata could be just what they need to take home that elusive first-ever league title.
