Cerezo Osaka and BG Pathum United gave fans in Thailand all the entertainment they could want in the Thai Life Insurance J.LEAGUE ASIA CHALLENGE 2023/24 powered by MEIJI YASUDA as both teams flew forward and showed off their skills in a goal-heavy contest won by BG, 3-2.

The Sakura struck first just after the hour mark on a corner kick. Ryosuke Shindo got away from his marker and headed the ball powerfully into the back of the net to give the Japanese side a lead.

The Rabbits hit right back on a set piece of their own. Seydine N’Diaye got free at the back post and was able to nod a free kick just inside the post to bring the match level.

BG Pathum United then used their press to force a turnover and send Danilo Alves running at a retreating Cerezo defense. He got 20 yards out and let a shot rip, squeezing it under Kim Jin-hyeon and into the back of the net to give his side the lead.

The home side then delighted their fans with a third goal when Chaowat Veerachat, who used to suit up for Cerezo, knocked in a rebound for a 3-1 BGPU lead.

Cerezo scored arguably the most impressive goal of the game late on as Lucas Fernandes hit a beautiful, curling cross that Hirotaka Tameda met with a diving header to give the game its 3-2 final scoreline.

With another enthusiastic crowd to see some of the best that Japan and Thailand have to offer, the Thai Life Insurance J.LEAGUE ASIA CHALLENGE 2023/24 powered by MEIJI YASUDA was an unqualified success as the J.League continues its aim to grow the sport throughout the continent.
