Sanfrecce Hiroshima and Cerezo Osaka have spent much of the season on the edges of the battle for the title and that is where they stand now, in search of big points to make a last push up the table as they meet on Saturday at 4 pm JST in a contest that will be streamed live on the J.League International YouTube channel.
Sanfrecce and Cerezo are going in opposite directions, with the Viola having taken 16 points from their last seven, while the Sakura have lost three in a row. That has put Sanfrecce in fifth, but level on points with fourth and only seven points off second place. Meanwhile, Cerezo are in seventh place, but only two points back of Sanfrecce and Co.
The Viola and Sakura are very similar sides and the difference in this match may be which star Brazilian shines brightest. Cerezo’s Léo Ceará has been terrific this season, while Sanfrecce have Douglas Vieira is always a threat in front of goal. Which of the two can make the biggest impact in Osaka?
The J.League announced that up to four matches will be streamed live each week for the 2023 season, bringing one of Asia’s top league’s to fans around the world. The streams will be free to view on the J.League International YouTube channel in any country that does not have an existing rights agreement.
