It’s all come down to this for Vissel Kobe - beat Shonan Bellmare on the final day of the season and claim their second consecutive Meiji Yasuda J1 League title.
And you can watch live as Vissel go for the crown on Sunday at 2 pm on JLeague.co and broadcasters around the world.
Vissel are just one point clear of Sanfrecce Hiroshima, with FC Machida Zelvia also in the fight three points back. Concerningly for the reigning champions, they are well behind the Viola on goal difference and level with Zelvia, so if they lose to Bellmare, they will be extraordinarily vulnerable to losing the title.
The good news for Vissel is all they have to do is win and they are guaranteed the crown, regardless of what their challengers do. Bellmare also have little to play for too, sitting in 15th place and having guaranteed themselves safety from relegation.
Vissel came alive late in their 1-1 draw with Kashiwa Reysol last week, going up a man after the 90th minute before Yoshinori Muto rescued a point 10 minutes into added time. Now they have to ride that momentum into the final weekend, where a boisterous home crowd will be backing them.
Last season’s title was the first in Vissel’s history, ending a three decade wait. Now, they want to become just the sixth club to win consecutive crowns.
Can Vissel reign supreme again and set Kobe alight?
