Léo Ceará’s penalty kick was answered by Matheus Sávio as the points were split between Kashiwa and Cerezo, who moved a point off first place.

Sagan Tosu 0, Vissel Kobe 0

Vissel had their chances, hitting the bar once and forcing Park Il-gyu into some fine saves, but they couldn’t find a way through and had to settle for a draw that left them in fourth place.

Avispa Fukuoka 1, Kashima Antlers 0

Shahab Zahedi’s outstanding header was all Fukuoka needed to take an impressive win and leave Kashima in fifth place when a win would have sent Antlers joint top of the table.

Gamba Osaka 0, Kyoto Sanga 0

Neither Gamba nor Sanga were short on chances as the two sides combined for 37 shots, but none found the back of the net.

Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo 1, Nagoya Grampus 2

An early goal had Sapporo dreaming of their first win of the season, but Tsukasa Morishima equalized before Kensuke Nagai’s 90th minute winner earned Nagoya a third consecutive victory.

FC Tokyo 2, Urawa Reds 1

It was a big night for the #NextGenJLEAGUE crop as Ryotaro Araki and Kuryu Matsuki each scored to bring FC Tokyo back from an early deficit to win at the Japan National Stadium.

Júbilo Iwata 2, Albirex Niigata 0

The league’s leading scorer was back at it again as Ryo Germain scored twice to earn Júbilo three points against Albirex.

Yokohama F·Marinos 0, Kawasaki Frontale 0

A scoreless draw did little to help either team as both entered in need of a win, although Frontale will be happy to have held on after Marcinho’s 73rd minute red card.

Shonan Bellmare 1, Tokyo Verdy 2

Hiroto Taniguchi scored in the 75th minute and Hiroto Yamami added another 13 minutes later as Verdy stormed back to win their first top flight match since 2008.
