J1 League Match Week 3 Recap: Shonan Achieves Continue Three-Game Winning Streak! Shimizu and Hiroshima Draw in Their Streak Clash

On Matchday 3 of the 2025 MEIJI YASUDA J1 LEAGUE, held on the 26th, Shonan Bellmare claimed victory to continue their three-game winning streak and moved to the top of the table.

Hosting Urawa Reds at home, Shonan took the lead in the 26th minute through a goal by Sho Fukuda. Akito Suzuki added another in the 49th minute. Although they conceded a goal later, they held on for a 2-1 victory.

The highly anticipated clash between Shimizu S-Pulse and Sanfrecce Hiroshima, both aiming for a three-game winning streak, ended in a draw. Shimizu took the lead in the 12th minute through an own goal, but Hiroshima fought back, with Tsukasa Shiotani scoring the equalizer in the 65th minute, resulting in a 1-1 stalemate.

Kashima Antlers, playing at home against Albirex Niigata, opened the scoring in the 10th minute through Ryuta Koike. Although they conceded an equalizer in the 44th minute, they regained the lead with an own goal in the 78th minute, securing a 2-1 victory. Kashiwa Reysol, trailing by one, equalized in the 66th minute through Yuki Kakita and then took the lead in the 74th minute with a goal from Kosuke Kinoshita, completing a 2-1 comeback win over Cerezo Osaka.

FC TOKYO, hosting Nagoya Grampus, took the lead in the 31st minute with a goal from Keita Yamashita. Kein Sato added another in the 59th minute. Although they conceded a goal later, Soma Anzai sealed the victory with a late strike, securing a convincing 3-1 win. Tokyo Verdy, visiting FC Machida Zelvia, defended Kosuke Saito’s goal from the 13th minute to claim their first win of the season with a 1-0 result.

The Yokohama derby between Yokohama F･Marinos and Yokohama FC ended in a goalless draw as neither side could break the deadlock. Vissel Kobe, trailing by a goal, salvaged a dramatic equalizer in the 90+11th minute through Daiju Sasaki, finishing 1-1 against Kyoto Sanga F.C.

Fagiano Okayama, hosting Gamba Osaka, secured a solid 2-0 victory with goals from Takahiro Yanagi and Kazunari Ichimi. Kawasaki Frontale, playing away at Avispa Fukuoka, fell behind in the 15th minute but equalized through Akihiro Ienaga in the 42nd minute. Erison then netted the winner in the 85th minute, completing a 2-1 comeback victory. Fukuoka suffered their third consecutive defeat to start the season.
