Tomoya Inukai scored one of the most memorable goals of the 2024 Meiji Yasuda J1 League season when he ripped a 35-yard rocket that pierced the top corner of the net. Now, that amazing goal has an award too - the J1 Goal of the Month for May.

Inukai’s Matchweek 13 goal came with his Kashiwa Reysol side trailing 3-1 at FC Tokyo. He picked up the ball acres from the net, but took a touch and blasted an absolute rocket that could not have been hit any better.

Reysol would then score another goal to come back for a 3-3 draw and earn a valuable point.

Shimizu S-Pulse’s Shinya Yajima earned Goal of the Month in J2 for his pretty interplay before lifting a shot perfectly over the goalkeeper and into the top corner of the net.

The top goal in J3 was scored by FC Ryukyu’s Yu Tomidokoro, who sent a fabulous curling free kick into the upper corner for a tally to remember.
