Trinita striker Takamatsu to retire after season ends

Oita Trinita on Tuesday announced that striker Taishi Takamatsu will retire at the end of the season.

With the exception of one season on loan at FC Tokyo, the 35-year-old has spent his entire 17-year career at Trinita since joining the club out of high school in 2000.

In addition to his 195 J1 League, 162 J2 League, and seven J3 League appearance, Takamatsu represented Japan at the 2004 Athens Olympics as well as in the Samurai Blue.

The player will salute supporters one last time following Trinita’s November 13 match against YSCC Yokohama.
