Tomoki Iwata’s terrific September has earned him KONAMI Monthly MVP honors.
Iwata helped Yokohama F·Marinos to an undefeated month, leading the back line as they allowed just three goals in five matches. Iwata also added a goal in a 2-2 draw with F.C.Tokyo to start September, helping the Tricolor inch closer to the Meiji Yasuda J1 League title.
Iwata is the third Marinos player to earn KONAMI Monthly MVP this season, following Kota Mizunuma in June and Léo Ceará in July.
In J2, top honors went to Hiroya Matsumoto. The midfielder scored four goals in September as Zweigen Kanazawa lost just one of six matches in a successful month for the second division club.
Kei Uchiyama won KONAMI Monthly MVP in J3 after a spectacular month in goal. He kept five clean sheets as Fujieda MYFC won four and drew two of their six September contests, putting them right in the middle of the promotion battle.
