FC Tokyo on Wednesday announced that veteran winger Naohiro Ishikawa will be sidelined for up to eight months after tearing his left anterior cruciate ligament.
The 34-year-old sustained the injury during the capital club’s friendly against Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany last Sunday.
Ishikawa has recorded one goal in 10 MEIJI YASUDA J1 League appearances this season for Massimo Ficcadenti’s side, who lie in third place overall.
They resume league action next Wednesday when they travel to face Ventforet Kofu, though goalkeeper Shuichi Gonda is unlikely to be ready for the trip either.
