Urawa Reds on Monday announced that midfielder Shinya Yajima will return to the club following the conclusion of his loan to Fagiano Okayama.

The 22-year-old has spent the last two seasons with the MEIJI YASUDA J2 League outfit, scoring five goals in 35 appearances this season to help propel the side to the J1 Promotion Playoff Final. 

He was additionally a member of Japan’s 2016 Rio Olympic squad, scoring in the team’s final match against Sweden.

“I’m excited to step onto the pitch at Saitama Stadium with the full force of our supporters behind me,” said Yajima. 

“But I’ll have to earn my appearances, and I’m ready to prove that this was the right decision for me to make.”
