Sanfrecce Hiroshima had a blinding April, leaping up into the title race with four wins in five matches and, for that, Michael Skibbe has been named J1 Manager of the Month.

The Viola kept clean sheets in three of their five April contests and outscored opponents by a combined score of 8-3. When the month started, Sanfrecce were ninth in the table, but by the end they were up to second place and firmly in the title race.

Skibbe is hardly a stranger to awards for his outstanding leadership of Sanfrecce. The German was named 2022 J1 Manager of the Year and now he has a Manager of the Month trophy to add to his collection.

In J2, Fabio Carille of V-Varen Nagasaki earned Manager of the Month honors after the team won five of six matches to leap from 21st to second in the table. VVN outscored opponents 12-4 on the month, showing a dominance to match their point intake.

Julian of Nara Club was given Manager of the Month in J3. His team drew their first match of April, 1-1, before running off three straight wins by a combined score of 5-0. That run took them into the top two of the league.
