The record came last Sunday, when the J.League co-founders welcomed Vegalta Sendai and their supporters to Nissan Stadium.
A total attendance of 20,207 fans were present at the 1-1 draw, which saw 2004 champions F.Marinos finish matchday 5 in seventh place.
