Marcos Júnior made his mark at Sanfrecce Hiroshima in a big way scoring a goal so good in his first match for the Viola that he has been awarded Konami Goal of the Month for August.

The Brazilian moved from Yokohama F·Marinos to Sanfrecce this summer and made his Viola debut in Matchweek 24 against Kawasaki Frontale. On the hour mark, with the match tied 1-1, Marcos Júnior collected the ball just outside the box, drew in a defender, did a full spin to escape and then danced through multiple Frontale players before hitting a gorgeous curler just inside the post to put Sanfrecce in front.

Marcos Júnior didn’t just star for Sanfrecce right off the bat or score a goal for the ages, his tally also proved vital as the Viola won, 3-2. A worthy Goal of the Month indeed.

Konami Goal of the Month honors in J2 went to Keita Nakamura, whose work as creator and finisher in Matchweek 30 was unmatched. With V-Varen Nagasaki trailing, 3-2, in the 83rd minute, Nakamura played one pass and sprinted forward, getting the ball back and playing another pass before getting it back and lashing a late equalizer.

Finally, top goal in J3 went to Ehime FC’s Shunsuke Tanimoto for his Matchweek 24 rocket.
