Senshu University defender Takuya Koyama has been recognised as a Special Designated Player for FC Tokyo by the Japan Football Association and J.League, the club announced on Friday.
The 19-year-old spent six years in Tokyo’s academy system and participated in Tokyo’s consecutive third place finishes in the 2014 and 2015 J.League Youth Cups.
“I’m incredibly happy to be able to wear FC Tokyo’s badge again,” Koyama said.
“I’m grateful to everyone who has supported me and I hope that I can take advantage of this opportunity and contribute to both my university and the club.”
