Ryo Germain is still on top of the Meiji Yasuda J1 League scoring chart after finding the back of the net twice in Matchweek 9.
Germain's brace was a thing of beauty and began with a brilliant header to open the scoring in Júbilo Iwata’s 2-2 draw with Avispa Fukuoka.
Germain now has nine goals from nine matches, keeping him in control of the race for Top Scorer. His nearest challenger, Yuki Ohashi of Sanfrecce Hiroshima, is on six.
On the other side of the pitch from Germain was another standout performance - that of Avispa's Shahab Zahedi. The Iranian scored two goals of his own, taking him to five total despite only signing with Fukuoka in March.
Alongside Zahedi on five goals is Léo Ceará, who also scored this weekend, Ryotaro Araki, who is away on Japan U-23 duty, and Anderson Lopes of Yokohama F·Marinos, whose team had the week off in J1.
