J.League Top Scorer Watch: Germain back on scoresheet, Léo Ceará remains red hot

Ryo Germain returned to the scoresheet as he resumed his pursuit of Meiji Yasuda J1 League Top Scorer, but he made no headway in Matchweek 22 as the man atop the scoring chart, Léo Ceará, scored yet again.

Cerezo's Brazilian sensation found the back of the net with a clever run and tidy finish to earn Cerezo Osaka a 1-1 draw at Tokyo Verdy to take him up to 16 goals on the season.

The Brazilian has now tallied 14 times in the last 17 matches.

Germain, who led the league in goals early in the season, snapped a four-match goalless streak with the opening score in Júbilo Iwata’s 2-2 draw with Kawasaki Frontale.

Germain is now tied with Yokohama F·MarinosAnderson Lopes for second place with 12 goals.

Yuma Suzuki picked up two terrific assists for Kashima Antlers in Matchweek 22, but did not find the back of the net, remaining on 10 goals. He is tied with Sagan Tosu’s Marcelo Ryan for fourth place on the goalscoring chart.
