Japan to host Club World Cup in 2015 and 2016

The Japan Football Association has announced that the FIFA Club World Cup will return to Japan for the first time since 2012, from the 10th to the 20th of December 2015.

In addition to the champions of each of FIFA’s six confederations, this year’s MEIJI YASUDA J1 League winners will participate the yearly tournament which determines the world’s top football club.

Should representatives Gamba Osaka, Kashima Antlers or Kashiwa Reysol win the 2015 AFC Champions League, the ‘host country’ berth will be given to the next highest-placed non-Japanese team in the ACL.
