The fight for the Meiji Yasuda J1 League title is heating up with five teams all in the mix, but it’s table-topping FC Machida Zelvia who held firm in Matchweek 27.

Both the Antlers and Reds found the back of the net, only to have VAR rule them out as they split the points in Kashima.

It appeared as if Taisei Miyashiro had won it for Vissel with his gorgeous 84th-minute goal, but Shinnosuke Nakatani equalized five minutes into stoppage time to steal a dramatic point for Gamba.

Kawasaki Frontale 1, Yokohama F·Marinos 3

Anderson Lopes, Takuma Nishimura and Shinnosuke Hatanaka each scored in the second half as the Tricolor rolled to an impressive win in Kawasaki to stake their place as the kings of Kanagawa.

Cerezo Osaka 3, Kyoto Sanga 5

A goalfest in Osaka! J1 leading scorer Léo Ceará added another to his tally, but it was Rafael Elias’ night as his hat trick led Sanga out of the relegation zone and back to Kyoto in a good mood.

FC Tokyo 0, Tokyo Verdy 0

Verdy had the upper hand and should have walked away with a victory in this Capital Derby, but some poor luck and the outstanding goalkeeping of Taishi Brandon Nozawa meant splitting the points with FC Tokyo.

Avispa Fukuoka 0, Albirex Niigata 1

Kaito Taniguchi scored his ninth goal of the season with an outstanding solo effort to pick up three points in Fukuoka for Albirex.

Shonan Bellmare 1, Kashiwa Reysol 2

Samurai Blue star Mao Hosoya put the visitors on the board in Hiratsuka before Kosuke Kinoshita scored the winning goal to give Reysol all three points.

Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo 5, Sagan Tosu 3

It was an eight-goal thriller in Hokkaido, with Thai star Supachok picking up a goal and an assist and Yoshiaki Komai scoring a brace in a big home win at the Sapporo Dome.
