After discontinuing the use of VAR (Video Assistant Referee) through the 2020 season, the J.LEAGUE has decided to reintroduce it for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

- Super Cup : 1 match
- J.LEAGUE YBC Levain Cup, Prime Stage : 13 matches

■ 2022 season matches : 321 matches
- MEIJI YASUDA J1 LEAGUE : 306 matches *2
- Super Cup : 1 match *1
- J.LEAGUE YBC Levain Cup, Prime Stage : 13 matches
- J1 Promotion Playoff Final : 1 match *1

*1 Whether these matches will be held is yet to be determined.
*2 Considering the MEIJI YASUDA J1 LEAGUE will be consisting of 18 clubs.
