Introduction of Video Assistant Referee for the 2021 and 2022 season

After discontinuing the use of VAR (Video Assistant Referee) through the 2020 season, the J.LEAGUE has decided to reintroduce it for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

■VAR will be utilized for the matches below
■ 2021 season matches : 394 matches
- MEIJI YASUDA J1 LEAGUE : 380 matches
- Super Cup : 1 match
- J.LEAGUE YBC Levain Cup, Prime Stage : 13 matches

■ 2022 season matches : 321 matches
- MEIJI YASUDA J1 LEAGUE : 306 matches *2
- Super Cup : 1 match *1
- J.LEAGUE YBC Levain Cup, Prime Stage : 13 matches
- J1 Promotion Playoff Final : 1 match *1

*1 Whether these matches will be held is yet to be determined.
*2 Considering the MEIJI YASUDA J1 LEAGUE will be consisting of 18 clubs.
