The draw for the 2017 AFC Champions League took place on Tuesday night, with Japan’s representatives learning their potential opponents in 2017.
J.League champions Kashima Antlers were drawn into Group E, where they will be joined by Thailand’s Muangthong United and the winners of Playoff 1 and 4.
Japan’s participants in the remaining groups will be determined by the winner of the ongoing Emperor’s Cup, which will conclude on January 1.
