Furuhashi named Konami Monthly MVP for June as J.LEAGUE awards are announced

The Konami Monthly MVP awards for June are in, and in the MEIJI YASUDA J1 LEAGUE the choice was clear - Kyogo Furuhashi. The Vissel Kobe man was peerless in June, scoring four goals in two league matches to lead his club to a pair of wins and a jump up the table. He also played a key role in the Vissel build up and tracked back regularly, doing it all for his team.

In J2, the Konami MVP for June went to Ventforet Kofu’s Jin Izumisawa. Izumisawa scored four goals in Ventforet Kofu’s four June matches, while also playing the role of creator for a club that scored 10 goals in the month.

J1 Goal of the Month honors for June belong to Kasper Junker for his effort in Matchweek 18. The Urawa Reds striker helped start the move with good hold up play, then raced onto a long ball, out-ran the defenders and finished with a gorgeous chip over the goalkeeper.

The top goal of the month in J2 was scored by Montedio Yamagata’s Kota Yamada. The midfielder stole the ball, then took a touch into space before hitting a beautiful curler that clipped the inside of the post and found the back of the net. The goal was the first of four for Montedio Yamagata, who cruised to victory after Yamada’s goal.

Several managers put together impressive performances in June, but F.C.Tokyo’s Kenta Hasegawa beat out the field to take home J1 Manager of the Month. Hasegawa tightened up the Tokyo defense, notching clean sheets in all three of their league matches in June and picking up three wins.

Manager of the Month in J2 went to another manager in the capital, Tokyo Verdy’s Hideki Nagai. Verdy were perfect in June, winning all four of their contests by a combined score of 6-1 as Nagai’s men climbed into the top half of the table.

In the third tier, Yuki Morikawa of AC Nagano Parceiro took home the Konami Monthly MVP award, while his manager Yuji Yokoyama was ranked the division's top coach for June. Jun Arima of FC Imabari took home the month's top goal award for his finish against FC Gifu on Matchweek 12.
