Kawasaki Frontale secured what could be a massive result in the race for the 2016 MEIJI YASUDA J1 League Second Stage title, beating Urawa Reds 2-1.
The visitors stormed to victory at Saitama Stadium, pulling level on 22 points with Mihailo Petrovic’s side at the head of the standings.
Frontale captain Kengo Nakamura opened the scoring and, although Tadanari Lee equalised in the 28th minute, Kentaro Moriya struck the winner in the 74th minute.

Omiya Ardija defeated Vegalta Sendai 2-1 despite being reduced to 10 men following Akihiro Ienaga’s dismissal, while Jay Bothroyd’s 93rd-minute equaliser allowed Jubilo Iwata to avoid home defeat to Sagan Tosu in a 1-1 draw.
Albirex Niigata did their hopes for survival no harm with a 3-0 win over Avispa Fukuoka thanks to Leo Silva’s second-half brace.
