FC Tokyo have become the sixth J.League club to welcome six million fans to home games in their history.
The capital club reached the milestone last Sunday thanks to the 42,070 fans who attended the MEIJI YASUDA J1 League matchday 11 clash against Kashima Antlers.
“We have accomplished this thanks to our fans, supporters, and everyone who is associated with the club,” FC Tokyo chairman Naoki Ogane wrote on the club’s official website.
“Thank you for your continued support.”
The 1-0 loss was Tokyo’s second straight sell-out home crowd, coming after their matchday 9 win against Tamagawa Clasico rivals Kawasaki Frontale.
Supporters have had even more reason to cheer their team on, with the capital side emerging as title contenders this season.
