The 11th round of the 2016 MEIJI YASUDA J2 League took place on Tuesday with 10 matches played as scheduled.
Juninho’s goal in the 17th minute gave Consadole Sapporo a 1-0 victory at Zweigen Kanazawa, sending the team into first place with their third straight win.
Similarly, Captain Yoichiro Kakitani’s strike was enough to deliver Cerezo Osaka to a 1-0 win at Matsumoto Yamaga. The Kansai side are now in second place after goal difference.
Former leaders FC Machida Zelvia fell to third place following their 1-1 draw to FC Gifu, with Yuki Nakashima’s effort in the 33rd minute quickly neutralised by Leonardo Rocha’s equaliser.
The league’s 12th round will take place on Saturday, May 7.
