Eiji Miyamoto scored a goal for the ages, twisting, turning, and blasting a ball home on the volley to win Goal of the Month for August.

Miyamoto had a ball played into him that would have been a handful just to bring down, but the Albirex Niigata man had ambitions far beyond that. He contorted his body to spin away from goal, twist and hit an overhead kick that found the back of the net to the astonishment of everyone in the stadium.

Miyamoto’s goal wasn’t just amazing; it also was crucial in Niigata earning a 2-2 draw with Júbilo Iwata.

The best goal in J2 was Pereira’s audacious backheel. The Oita Trinita man was 12 yards from goal and facing the wrong way, but he still took his shot and somehow hit it with pace right into the bottom corner for a magnificent goal.

Top in J3 went to Daigo Furukawa, whose sliding, volleyed effort wowed everyone in attendance and earned FC Osaka a draw.
