Yuma Suzuki has been named Konami Monthly MVP after a marvelous May that saw him lead Kashima Antlers up the table and into the title race.
Suzuki netted four goals and added two assists in the month as Antlers took 16 of a possible 18 points in an undefeated May.
Suzuki began the month with a two-goal, one-assist performance in a 3-1 win over Shonan Bellmare.
He picked up the assist on the game-winning goal the next match before scoring in each of the following two contests.
Kashima started May in sixth place, but by the end, Suzuki had helped take them all the way to second.
Konami Monthly MVP for J2 went to Motohiko Nakajima, who scored four goals as Vegalta Sendai took four wins from five matches.
Yu Tomidokoro won top honors in J3 as he played in a range of different midfield roles while wearing the armband as FC Ryukyu put forth an undefeated month. He also scored a goal so good that it took home Goal of the Month in the third division.
