Kaito Taniguchi started off the season with a bang, scoring a volley to remember in Matchweek 1 that has won him Goal of the Month for February and March.

Albirex Niigata had fallen behind Sagan Tosu early on, but then a long ball over the top found Taniguchi. He could have tried running in on goal, but instead he blasted it with his first touch from 25 yards. It was a fabulous shot, finding the side netting and leveling the match at 1-1 with a goal no Albirex fan will soon forget.

Taniguchi’s goal began the comeback that would see Niigata win their opener, 2-1.

Matheus Jesus took home Goal of the Month in J2 for his magnificent bicycle kick in Matchweek 5 that helped V-Varen Nagasaki to a 2-1 win.

Yumeki Yokoyama’s terrific solo goal that led FC Imabari to a Matchweek 4 win earned him Goal of the Month in J3.
