Sanfrecce Hiroshima on Sunday announced an agreement on the transfer of striker Takuma Asano to Premier League giants Arsenal.
The 21-year-old, who has scored 10 goals in 55 league appearances, was recently named to Japan’s 18-man squad for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
“I’ve been able to improve as much as I have because of my experiences at Sanfrecce Hiroshima in the last three and a half years,” Asano said.
“I want to thank everyone for your support, and hope I will continue to receive it as I challenge myself to aim for an even higher level.”
Asano will play his final match for Sanfrecce on July 17 when the club hosts Yokohama F. Marinos in the fourth round of the 2016 MEIJI YASUDA J1 League Second stage.
