Lukian was on fire in July, scoring four goals to lead Shonan Bellmare to a perfect three wins from three matches and earning him Konami Monthly MVP honors.
The Brazilian began the month with a stoppage time winner as Bellmare defeated Urawa Reds, 3-2. He followed that up with three goals in a stunning performance as Bellmare thrashed Júbilo Iwata, 5-0. Finally, Lukian led the line and provided good hold up play on the lone goal as Bellmare took down second place Gamba Osaka, 1-0.
Lukian’s outstanding July was crucial for Bellmare as he paced a team that needed him at his very best in a crucial juncture of their season. With the forward leading the way, Bellmare didn’t just score nine goals in three matches, they took nine points to climb from 19th place all the way up to 16th in their bid to avoid relegation.
Konami Monthly MVP in J2 went to Ryota Nagaki. The veteran in the Tokushima Vortis midfield was excellent in July, providing the cover and transition play both with and without the ball that his team needed. With him dictating play from the center of the pitch and wearing the armband, Vortis picked up a pair of wins to climb into the top half of the table.
The top player in J3 was Ryo Nagai, who scored in three separate one-goal wins for Giravanz Kitakyushu as they put together an undefeated July.
