J.League Top Scorer Watch: Quartet closes the gap to Léo Ceará

Léo Ceará is still atop the Meiji Yasuda J1 League goal scoring chart, but his lead is shrinking after a quartet of challengers found the back of the net in Matchweek 24.

The Cerezo Osaka star did not score this week, leaving him stuck on 16 goals for the season.

His former teammate Anderson Lopes found the back of the net for Yokohama F·Marinos, though, converting from the spot to put him on 13 goals for the campaign.

Ryo Germain also scored to hit 13 goals, delivering Júbilo Iwata’s lone goal of the weekend.

While Anderson Lopes and Germain are tied for second, there is a three-way tie for fourth place.

Yuki Ohashi scored for Sanfrecce Hiroshima and Marcelo Ryan netted for Sagan Tosu, bringing them both up to 11 goals on the season. They are now level with Shonan Bellmare’s Lukian, who has scored 11 as well.
