J.League Top Scorer Watch: Anderson Lopes brace leads to tie atop chart

Léo Ceará has company atop the Meiji Yasuda J1 League Top Scorer chart after Anderson Lopes scored twice in Matchweek 28 to tie his fellow Brazilian with 17 goals on the campaign.

Anderson Lopes scored his first goal after being pulled down in the box and burying the subsequent penalty kick. He then got his foot to a shot from distance and redirected it into the back of the net as Yokohama F·Marinos rolled past Léo Ceará’s Cerezo Osaka, 4-0, at the Japan National Stadium.

While the pair of Brazilians lead the league with 17 goals each, Ryo Germain is still in the mix for the scoring crown with 15 goals.

Yuma Suzuki scored over the weekend for his 12th goal of the season, tying him with Marcelo Ryan for fourth in the goal standings.
