Cho Kwi-jae has been named Manager of the Month after guiding Kyoto Sanga to a fabulous August that saw the team make major headway in their bid for another top-flight season.
Sanga won three of four matches in August, climbing to 15th place and putting six points between themselves and the relegation zone.
Cho expertly integrated new signing Rafael Elias, putting the striker in position to score five goals in the month. With Rafael leading the way, Cho’s side scored 11 goals in their three wins in August as they moved ever closer to a club-record fifth consecutive season in the top flight.
Shuhei Yomoda was awarded Manager of the Month for J2 after leading Yokohama FC to an undefeated August. Yomoda’s side earned four wins and a draw in five matches, taking them to the top of the table as they look to not only earn promotion, but win the second division.
Top boss in J3 went to Kim Jong-song, who guided FC Ryukyu to three wins from three matches as his side climbed five spots in the table.
